India's Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar has denied allegations that his family was involved in bidding for a cricket team in the Indian Premier League.
The Times of India newspaper on Friday reported that Pawar's family controlled 16 percent stake in the construction company City Corporation.
Pawar explained that the company's managing director Anirudha Deshpande took part in the IPL auction in March as an individual.
The company based in Pune offered 1200 crore rupees for an IPL team. But the bid for a Pune franchise was won by Sahara which paid Rs 1700 crore rupees.
