India and the United States are holding their first strategic dialogue in Washington.
Indian Foreign Minister SM Krishna is meeting US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton against the backdrop of several difficult issues that strained ties between the two countries.
Clinton started off by saying the dialogue will deepen Indo-American cooperation. She said security is top priority. She went on to day Washington will discuss continued partnership in defence with India.
Clinton also praised India's economic progress as 'remarkable' and urged New Delhi to ease caps on investment markets.
