Amethyst - a writer's wonderland and a coffee lover's best friend

A writer's wonderland, a historian's haven, an escape from the swelling sounds of city traffic -there's no need to rush at Amethyst, a coffee shop set amidst a colonial heritage bungalow, that transports you to a land far, far away from the fast pace of Chennai city . The fresh and innovative juice blends, like the cucumber green-apple juice, and the cold soups, like the cucumber cashew nut soup, are must try items during Chennai's sultry-summer, according to Niru. So beat the heat amidst Amethyst's magical atmosphere of lush greens, and colonial charm!

Anything that is veg and everything that is veg is served here at B R Matsya. Apart from the South Indian Idly Dosas, one can try out Grecian Tatzikis and Italian Pastas. The buffet is reasonably priced at Rs 199 and has quite a spread.

Pratiba walks into her favourite pettai to wrap herself in various western snacks with Indian twists! While she rolls and grills the wraps in one kiosk, she slices the bun and slips the pattie in between in another kiosk. She prepares her delights and feasts on them for the rest of the day!
