Dr. Prannoy Roy

He was responsible for single-handedly revolutionizing television viewing in India with the ‘World This Week’ and his dynamic analysis of the 1984 elections. A qualified chartered accountant, his foray into the small screen began in 1980. And the rest, as they say, is history. He began as a journalist with Indian Express and went on to serve as Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax and Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Defence. Joining NDTV in 1995, under his stewardship the channel expanded both in its news and non-news business. He virtually transformed the channel from a production house to a broadcaster. As CEO of the NDTV Group, Narayan oversees the business of the Group both in India and abroad. His vision for Chennai too is just as large.
